Today is another rest day. I think we are getting into holiday mode now. We don’t need to be at the drop off site near Melbourne till Saturday morning so we are not breaking our necks any more. The morning was spent taking in the sights of Warrnambool, wash a few things and a read of the paper. Tonight it will be over the road to the Bistro for our evening meal. $11 for a salad bar. Tomorrow we will take in the Great Ocean Road on our way to Geelong.

Leaving Adelaide became a major cause of concern as the we could not get a consensus of opinion from the GPSs. Finally we chose to use my “little lady” to show us the way carefully avoiding the inner city. We headed down the Princes Highway and on to Tailem Bend for brunch. We then tracked on to Mount Gambier to view the Blue Lake.

The Blue Lake is Mount Gambier’s water supply, It is a volcanic crater and the water is the surrounding water table exposed. The water level hardly varies and it is a magnificent colour blue. The colour in the photo is untouched.
It was then on to Warrnambool Vic for the night. Found a motel on the main drag which was that good we have decided to stop another night as we are well ahead of schedule.

Today was a relaxed day. We headed for the National Motor Museum at Birdwood

This was about 30 odd kms from the motel. The road up to Birdwood follow the river Torrens up into the Adelaide Hills. The road was great preparation for the Tassie Roads. If you are in the area it there is plenty of attractions to tempt all tastes.
Tom Kruse's Leyland Badger
A highlight of the museum for me was to see Tom Kruse’s fully restored 1935 Leyland Badger Truck which he used to on the mail run from Maree to Birdsville.

Today was an easy day on the road. We made it to Adelaide just after 2 pm local time. It was dark when we left blame daylight saving. The traffic gradually increased as we got closer to civilization so called but no real dramas. We will be staying north of Adelaide for a couple of nights before moving on.
